By the way, you may wonder why some breeders are " USDA licensed" and others are not. According to the NYS Pet Dealer and Breeder Licensing Program: private breeders selling less than 25 dogs per year, which are raised in the breeder's home, are exempt from the licensing requirement. Our litters, which are raised in our home, do not reach those numbers therefore, no, we are not licensed. The USDA checks large and commercial breeders on: housing, advertising, sanitation, feeding and watering, required posted license and notices, handling, records of veterinary care and records of purchases and sales (of course, nothing on socialization or just plain love and attention).  It's a personal choice of where you choose to look for your pup and the more informed the better!         To read more on USDA licensing see link below:
